Shot Darts is delighted to announce the signing of Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) star Devon Petersen, which will see a brand-new darts range launched for the ‘African Warrior’ later this month.

Growing up in 1980s Cape Town, Devon discovered the game through his dad – who’s been playing for more than 50 years. Watching his dart heroes on VHS lit Devon’s fire to beat the odds, as dedication to the sport took him from the local league to provincial, national, and international triumph as Africa’s first and only darts professional.

Now, Petersen is ranked 26th in the world, and has competed in all of darts’ major tournaments including the World Championship, World Matchplay, World Cup, UK Open, World Series of Darts, European Championship and Players Championship Finals. On top of his commitments on the board, Petersen also works at Sky Sports UK as a commentator, while serving as an ambassador for darts all around Africa.

Shot’s in-house design team collaborated closely with the African Warrior himself to create a spectacular darts range with ingenious new Iklwa spear grips to keep him at the top of his game. The range showcases the design for which Shot is renowned – fully crafted at the Shot factory in Katikati, New Zealand.

Shot Darts Managing Director Peter McCormick is thrilled to have Petersen on board and envisions exciting things for 2022.

“Like Shot, Devon Petersen has darts in his blood. His sponsorship reflects our global plans for our brand’s growth – particularly in the UK market,” says McCormick.

“We’ve also had close ties with darts in South Africa since the 1970s, our parent company Puma Darts sponsored the World Cup hosted by the country in 1999. Devon’s amazing personal story, his showmanship and his commitment to the game align closely with our own core values.

“All Shot ranges tell a story, and we’re looking forward to telling Devon’s remarkable story through his new African Warrior range.

“It’s about an under-privileged kid from apartheid South Africa, who has a dream and by sheer graft and determination, beats the odds to make it a reality. With roots firmly in South Africa, we pay respect to his culture, his pride in heritage and his joyful approach to the game.”

Shot’s Devon Petersen African Warrior range will launch on 24th March 2022, and available globally in store and online from all darts stores from that date.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
