With the way he conducted himself in conjunction with the performance levels delivered, Stowe Buntz captured the support and adoration of many during his run to the quarter-final of the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton back in November. Showing immense gratitude for the opportunity that he had been afforded, clearly relishing the challenge and embracing everything about the tournament, there was something incredibly relatable about watching The Neon Nightmare on the big stage at Aldersley Leisure Village and the enjoyment derived from the occasion.

With the 2024 CDC season up and running and the US Darts Masters on the horizon, we caught up with Stowe to find out how things are going:

“My CDC performances thus far? Ehhhh... although I will take a quarter-final and semi-final, I know that I have much more in the locker. I think it was a good warmup weekend for me heading into MSG.”

“The standard of darts in North America is getting higher and higher each year it seems like. With the return of Jeff Smith and Danny Baggish to the CDC and the abundance of new talent it's going to be a tough room every event. That is going to help force me to practise and push myself.”

Reflecting on his significantly impressive 2023, Stowe said: “My takeaways from 2023? Enjoy and savour every moment because you may not ever have another chance. If you put your mind to it "Sky is the limit". I know I can compete with the best in the world. My family, friends and fans are amazing. Some of the things I am most proud of in 2023 include the CDC 3peat in Canada and of course reaching the quarter-final at the Grand Slam, topping what was coined as the group of death - a group that included Stephen Bunting, Dave Chisnall and Peter Wright.”

Looking ahead to the opportunities ahead of him, the man from Portsmouth, Virginia expressed: “Competing at MSG is going to be amazing....The world's greatest athletes have competed there. Just having the opportunity to compete in the same building that Michael Jordan competed in will be amazing. Going up against the world’s best in darts and to do it at the most iconic arena in North America.... breathtaking! Hopefully when I get on stage I will be able to just soak it all in and enjoy myself and hope the nerves stayaway. My main aims for this year include making it back to Wolverhampton and just ENJOY myself no matter what happens at any event that I participate in.”

With such a remarkable attitude and infectious enthusiasm for the game, we’re certain that Buntz will receive superb support wherever his darting journey takes him in 2024 and we can’t wait to see what he can achieve, whilst representing the Shot brand!
