How long playing darts?
I have been playing darts for 30 years now and it all started after throwing some darts in a mates fathers shed. I joined their darts team 6 months later but was asked to make way for an “A” grade player, and so, I moved to the Geelong Darts Club Inc. in Corio, a suburb of Geelong and formed friendships with players that played Super league and State darts. Their influences helped me make the State reserve side in 1984. In 1985 I made my 1st Victorian State team and have represented 19 times. In 1988 I qualified for the Winmau World Masters and my Embassy World Professional (Lakeside) debut followed a month later in 1989. Two years later in Zaandvoort, Holland, I teamed up with Keith Sullivan to win Gold in the World Cup Pairs. I played 17 years straight for Victoria before briefly retiring to build a home and life for my 2 year old son. I returned to the Victorian team in 2004 & 2005, and in the same year I was named as a reserve for the Australian side in 2005. Work took up most of my time until 2009 and in 2010 I started to play more events. In March 2010 I ruptured my Achilles tendon and was out of action for most of the year until August where I qualified to play in the Wild Turkey Pro tour Final. I went on to make the final of the Russell Stewart Classic a DPA event and then in October I was the Finalist in the Australian Masters a BDO, WDF and DFA event.
